Hello! I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Maryland, Baltimore where I work with Dr. Jane Lincove to strengthen the teacher pipeline in Maryland. Before my current role, I received my Ph.D. in Education Policy and Evaluation from Florida State University. My dissertation examined how policies and school conditions may influence the teacher workforce. Specifically, I investigated the effect of student loan forgiveness policies on the teacher pipeline and the relationship between teacher-colleague demographics and teacher turnover.
Broadly, my research uses econometric and quantitative methods to examine topics related to strengthening our teacher workforce, with an emphasis on improving the teacher pipeline, reducing teacher turnover, and increasing teacher diversity.
Prior to my Ph.D. studies at Florida State, I was a teacher in Ann Arbor, MI, where I taught high school biology and chemistry. I also played a significant role in the creation and development of the district chemistry curriculum, in response to the roll out of the Next Generation Science Standards.
I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Science in Biomolecular Sciences, both from the University of Michigan.
